Board of Supervisors reject reinstatement of chief investigator

Marysville Appeal-Democrat - - LOCAL -

After nearly an hour in closed session, the Sutter County Board of Supervisors rejected an administrative law judge’s recommendation to reinstate a fired investigator for the District Attorney’s Office.

In a 4-0 vote (Jim Whiteaker recused himself because a family member is a DA employee), the Board said it considered the judge’s 31-page proposed decision, a transcript of the hearing, redacted pages of a confidential employment investigation and public comment in upholding the firing of former chief investigator Jason Parker.

A full story of the meeting and comments from those involved will be published in Thursday’s edition.
