Deputy in­volved in fa­tal ac­ci­dent crashes again

An Osce­ola County deputy who rear-ended a truck last month – killing the driver – was in­volved in an­other crash on Tues­day, ac­cord­ing to the Florida High­way Pa­trol.

Deputy Glo­ria Boc­cio, 29, was cited for an im­proper lane change Tues­day when she swerved into an­other car while try­ing to avoid traf­fic, FHP Lt. Kim Montes said.

Boc­cio was north­bound about 4:40 p.m. on State Road 417 near SR 408 in Orange County when she did not stop for slowed traf­fic, Montes said. She swerved into an­other lane, caus­ing a chain-re­ac­tion crash in­volv­ing three other ve­hi­cles. No one was in­jured in the wreck.

The fa­tal crash Boc­cio was in­volved in on Oct. 5 re­mains un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion, Montes said. 8:55 a.m. Tues­day.

The Dickinson County Sher­iff’s De­part­ment, the Kings­ford Pub­lic Safety De­part­ment and the Michi­gan State Po­lice as­sisted in the in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

Iron Moun­tain is ap­prox­i­mately 190 miles west of the Mack­inac Bridge.
