Opening Days Set For 2016 Fall Sports Season

McDonald County High School’s fall sports teams will soon open their 2016 seasons.

The McDonald County High School football team will begin the John Diehl era when the Mustangs open the 2016 season against Salem on Friday, Aug. 19, at MCHS. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

The Lady Mustangs softball team hosts Nevada on Aug. 23 to open its 2016 season. Game time is 5 p.m.

Also on Aug. 23, the Lady Mustangs volleyball team opens its season at home against Jasper. The junior varsity contest begins at 6 p.m. followed by the varsity. Games will be held in the auxiliary gym at MCHS.

McDonald County’s soccer team begins its season on Aug. 25 at the Cassville Tournament. The finals of the tourney are set for Aug. 27. Game times have not been set as yet.

The last team to open its season is the cross country team. McDonald County begins its cross country season on Sept. 3 at the Southwest Cross Country Coaches Kickoff in Lebanon. Races begin at 9 a.m.
