Patsy ‘Pat’ Marie Lowry Ramsey

July 11, 1951 January 5, 2017 Pat Ramsey, 65, of Southwest City, Mo., departed this life Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo. She entered this life July 11, 1951, to the late Olen and Mary Sharp in Kansas City, Kan.

She grew up in the Jay, Okla., area where she attended school and graduated in 1969. She then attended NEO in Miami, Okla., and finished up her degree in teaching at North Eastern in Tahlequah, Okla. On Sept. 29, 1972, she was united in marriage to Ken Ramsey and to this union one daughter was born. She taught for 30 years as a special education teacher finishing her career in Gravette, Ark., after 16 years of service.

She was a member of the Southwest City Full Gospel church where she was a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed helping her daughter with the Southwest City Old Timers Day and Christmas parades. She also enjoyed camping, shopping, helping her husband on the farm and going to see her granddaugh­ter play baseball and show her calf at the fair.

She is survived by her husband, Ken, of the home; a daughter; Misty Reece and husband Steve of Southwest City; a granddaugh­ter, Macy Reece; two sisters, Mary Noll of Helendale, Calif., and Dealie Sharp of Vinita, Okla.; a brother-in-law, Jim Ramsey and wife Connie of Owasso, Okla.; and a sisterin-law, Diane Robbins of Chickasha, Okla.; and a host of other family and friends.

The family received friends Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at the Full Gospel Church in Southwest City from 6 until 8 p.m.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the Full Gospel Church in Southwest City with Pastor Richard Hart officiatin­g. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearer­s were Eddie Stout, Shane Reece, Frank Woods, Darrell Spillers, Darrell Robertson and Larry Shields. Craig Martin and Shane Clark served as honorary Pallbearer­s. Burial followed in the Southwest City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Howard Meek Scholarshi­p fund in care of the funeral home.
