Duathlon May Be Added; More Registrations Needed

Organizers with the County Trailblazer are trying to add a duathlon to their upcoming running event, but they need more participants to sign up.

The second annual County Trailblazer is set for March 18. It features a 5K certified course, a 10K course and a 13-mile bike ride. Enthusiasts, however, have asked organizers to add a duathlon to the schedule.

As of presstime, organizers said that 15 additional participants will have to register and pay by Feb. 15 to make the duathlon official.

The event would feature a 1.5-mile run, a 13-mile bike ride, and then another 1.5-mile run. Cost for the duathlon is $60.

All proceeds from all events will be utilized to help build a trail connecting Pineville and Anderson.

Registration forms for all events are available at Pineville City Hall, 503 Main St.
