Mary ‘Maxine’ Caywood

Mary “Maxine” Caywood, 87, of Goodman, Mo., passed away March
19, 2017, at Freeman Hospital in Neosho, Mo. She was born Dec. 6, 1929, in Neosho, the daughter of Loren and Alice Whites Griffith. She lived most of her life in the Goodman area.
She had worked as a secretary for Rocketdyne, then as a legal secretary for the Newton County Prosecuting Attorney and attorney Walter Walker until his retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Goodman and Widow to Widow. She married Earl Caywood in March, 1951, and he preceded her in death in November 1995.
She is survived by three children, Michael Caywood of Neosho, Patricia Castaneda and husband, Wilbert of Angier, N.C., and Marvin Caywood and wife, Ursula, of Huntsville, Ala.; sister-inlaw, Mary Griffith Barnes; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho with Dr. Jerry Seigel officiating. Interment will follow in the Neosho Memorial Park Cemetery. The family received friends Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
