Ronald Eugene Wakefield
Dec. 27, 1946 Aug. 2, 2017 Ronald Eugene “Ronnie” Wakefield, 70, of Pineville, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at the Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Ark., with his loving family by his side. He was born on Dec. 27, 1946, at Santa Rosa, Calif., to James and Eva (Bates) Wakefield. He was raised and attended school in Kansas City, Mo.
He began working as a sacker at a local grocery store and worked at construction, painting, auto body, truck driving and asbestos. He moved to Pineville, following a fall from a ladder, becoming disabled in 1991.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and two sisters.
He is survived by his companion of 30 years, Betty McDaniel of the home; her daughter and two grandchildren; sister, Barbara Rogers of Blue Springs, Mo.; two brothers, James Wakefield of Kirksville, Mo., and Frank Streit of Parkville, Mo.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and wonderful friends who will dearly miss him.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home with Chaplain Danny Mullins officiating. Burial followed in the Union Cemetery in Stella, Mo. Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark funeral home. The family received friends at this time.
