Library Director Leaves Post
THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS SEARCHING FOR REPLACEMENT
The McDonald County Library is actively seeking a new leader after library director Kim Schneider left her post after just five months.
Schneider’s last day was Aug. 1, said McDonald County Interim Director Retha Mitchell. Schneider came on board in February.
Now library officials are seeking a community-minded director to manage the daily administrative activities of the library.
The library serves a population of 23,000 county residents, has four full-time and five part-time positions and has a $300,000 annual operating budget.
The director oversees the main library, which is located in Pineville, with a branch in Noel and a branch in Southwest City, Mitchell said.
The board of directors hopes to find a qualified applicant as soon as possible, but does not have a specific time frame to do so, Mitchell said.
“The board is working aggressively to fill the position,” she said. “We’ve had a lot of interest.”
