National Senior Center Month
September is National Senior Center month. Thanks to local support, the Southwest City Senior Center is able to host a variety of activities for seniors, including an upcoming Spaghetti Dinner and Dessert Auction on Oct. 7. The fun will begin at 6 p.m. A spaghetti dinner with breadsticks, salad, dessert and a drink will be available — $7 for adults and $5 for those ages 5-12.
Live music will be provided by local artist John Spurling. Spurling specializes in classic red-dirt country and folk music.
A handmade afghan blanket will be raffled.
Tickets can be purchased at the Southwest Senior Center or at City Hall.
The Health Department will be visiting the Southwest City Senior Center at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20, to provide flu shots.
