Wil­liam David ‘Bill’ Utby

July 10, 1945 Oct. 31, 2017 Wil­liam David “Bill” Utby, 72, of Jane, Mo., died Tues­day, Oct. 31, 2017, at his res­i­dence after months of de­clin­ing health. He was born on July 10, 1945, in Bak­ers­field, Calif., to Charles Wil­liam and Es­ther (Davis) Utby.

He was raised and at­tended school in south­ern Cal­i­for­nia. He at­tended col­lege while liv­ing in Hawaii. On Aug. 21, 1970, he was united in mar­riage to Diane Win­kler, and to­gether they shared the last 47 years. They resided sev­eral years in Santa Ana and River­side, Calif., be­fore mov­ing to Jane in 2013. He was a civil de­signer through­out his life and a mem­ber of the Catholic Church and Knights of Colum­bus. He en­joyed read­ing, play­ing golf, an­tique cars and car­ing for his an­i­mals.

He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents.

Sur­vivors in­clude his wife, Diane of the home; two chil­dren, Tommy Bowen of Jane and Patty (Tom) Sauls­bery of Jane; seven grand­chil­dren; and nine great-grand­chil­dren.

Memorial ser­vices were at 6 p.m. Mon­day, Nov. 6, 2017, in the An­der­son Chapel of the Ozark Fu­neral Homes with Pas­tor Mar­i­lyn O’Brien of­fi­ci­at­ing.
