The Power Of The Holy Ghost Illuminates

McDonald County Press - - CHURCH - Submitted by Joyce Walters

“Always put the Trinity first in your life, and you can find the right path to follow and peace as only our Lord can give. Just let go and let God have his way in your life!”

Pastor Bob had to have some pretty serious dental work done, so we were blessed with a visiting preacher who is known to many of God’s children. Brother Darrin Robins and his sweet wife came to worship with us. They also brought two of their grandchildren, one beautiful young lady blessed us with a song and was accompanied by her brother on the drums while Grandpa played the guitar. It’s amazing how much talent such young children can show if just given a chance. We love the children to be involved in our service.

Sister Sandra Cartwright had a birthday and, honestly, she doesn’t look any older than when I first met her. She is a very beautiful person inside and out. Bless you for all you do for the church.

Brother Randy Richardson and Brother Darrin Robins both sang songs of praise. When Brother Darrin began, he gave us the scripture in Acts 2:1-4. This is a very familiar account of the day of Pentecost where people were gathered in one mind and one accord to worship the Lord. As they worshiped, there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind. It filled the house. There was an atmosphere of praise among the worshipers. There appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire and it sat upon each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

If you remember, when Jesus went away, He promised us that He would not go away unless He could send a comforter. The Holy Ghost is a comfort in time of trouble and can bring words of scripture as we need them. He is the one who often leads and guides us through hard times. It is impossible to reflect light without having light in your heart. Jesus is the light of the world and will give us hope not only in this life, but He has gone to prepare us a home in heaven.

Brother Darrin gave an illustration of a dark place in the woods where there is no light and it’s cold. When you build a fire, not only does it warm you but it gives you light. That is exactly the mission of the Holy Ghost. Fire is a wonderful thing when it is handled rightly. Think about the three Hebrew children who were thrown into the fiery furnace because they would not bow to any god except the true and living God. When they came out of the fire, they didn’t even smell of smoke. Why? Because when onlookers peered into the fire they saw four and one was likened to the Son of God. Praise God, He never leaves us alone.

We can call on the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost to bring us through any destruction that Satan may send our way. Always put the Trinity first in your life, and you can find the right path to follow and peace as only our Lord can give. Just let go and let God have his way in your life!

We thank Brother Darrin for bringing the word to us this Sunday and bringing his family to worship with us. Until next week, God Bless you is our prayer.
