Ju­nior High Base­ball Teams Sweep Neosho

The McDon­ald County ju­nior high base­ball teams swept Neosho on April 5 at Neosho High School.

The eighth grade claimed a 16-1 de­ci­sion be­hind the pitch­ing of Bo Leach, Wy­att Habert and Lee Soshe. Leach pitched three in­nings of shutout ball be­fore Habert al­lowed a run in the fourth and Soshe closed the game with a score­less fifth.

Dy­lan Igi­so­mar had three hits, scored three runs and drove in one to lead the of­fense. Levi Malone, Matthew Mora, Leach and Bran­don Arm­strong all had two hits. Leach also drove in four runs and scored two while Malone scored two runs and drove in one.

Cole Martin had a hit and drove in two runs, while Soshe had a hit and drove in three.

We­ston Gor­don pitched three in­nings and had three hits to lead the sev­enth grade to a 9-1 win.

Brax­ton Spears, worked the fi­nal two in­nings, had four hits and scored four runs. Fis­cher Sanny and Isaac Behm had two hits each, while Sammy Heruth, Coty Du­mond and Jack­son Par­nell had one hit each.

Prov­i­dence Academy

Levi Helm al­lowed one run in four in­nings but took the loss in the eighth grade’s 1-0 loss to Prov­i­dence Academy of Rogers, Ark., on April 3 at MCHS.

Eli Jack­son went one-third of an in­ning be­fore Wy­att Jor­dan got the fi­nal two outs in the fifth.

Igi­so­mar and Mora each had a hit for the Mus­tangs only two hits of the game.

The sev­enth grade claimed a 5-0 win be­hind the shutout pitch­ing of Behm, who went four in­nings, and Par­nell, who worked one in­ning of score­less re­lief.

Heruth had three hits and Spears added two to lead the of­fense. Sanny, Gor­don and Du­mond added one hit each.

The eighth grade is now 1-1-1 for the sea­son, while the sev­enth grade is 3-0 and the com­bined sev­enth/eighth team is 4-0.

McDon­ald County’s next game is the sev­enth-grade tour­na­ment in Grove on April 13-14. The teams split up on April 16 to face Wyan­dotte at MCHS.
