Rylan Lett, Rustin Lett and Bronson Hammontree met with Commissioners. Rylan stated he was very unhappy with two McDonald County Sheriff deputies and how the men were treated by the deputies. Rylan said they called 911 after they were physically assaulted by a group of canoers. The Commission told the men the Commission has no authority over the Sheriff’s Department or the deputies, other than budgetary authority. Also in attendance was Prosecuting Attorney Bill Dobbs. Roddy Lett came in later with complaints about the service his campground has received from the McDonald County Sheriff Department for quite some time.
The Commission met with Steven and Michal Thompson regarding Mitchell Cemetery. The Thompson’s informed the Commission that some of the headstones in the cemetery had been knocked over and stacked in a pile. They were wanting to know who to contact to find out where each headstone belonged.
