Gen­er­ally scor­ing a goal takes time in most soc­cer matches.

The McDon­ald County High School 2018 soc­cer team de­but at a three-team scrim­mage in Cassville on Tues­day night was not most soc­cer matches.

The Mustangs scored a goal in the first two min­utes of both of its 40-minute scrim­mages — the first com­ing in a minute and half against Cassville and the sec­ond in just 38 sec­onds against Aurora.

McDon­ald County claimed a 3-1 win over Cassville in the opener be­fore set­tling for a 2-2 tie with Aurora in its sec­ond match.

Malachi Smith knocked in McDon­ald County’s first goal in the sec­ond minute of the opener against Cassville.

Ten min­utes later, Eh Doh Say made it 2-0 be­fore Cassville cut the lead to 2-1 with 14 min­utes left.

Esta­ban De La Torre added an in­sur­ance goal for the Mustangs in the fi­nal minute.

It took Kaw Htoo just 38 sec­onds to give McDon­ald County an early 1-0 lead against Aurora in the Mustangs’ sec­ond scrim­mage.

McDon­ald County added to its lead when Jeobany Mar­cos con­nected from over 30 yards out.

Aurora cut the lead to 2-1 at the 16-minute mark be­fore ty­ing the score at 2-2 with 1:30 left.

McDon­ald County opens its sea­son at the Cassville Tour­na­ment which runs from Aug. 28 through Sept. 1.
