Soccer Team Scores Fast And Early
Generally scoring a goal takes time in most soccer matches.
The McDonald County High School 2018 soccer team debut at a three-team scrimmage in Cassville on Tuesday night was not most soccer matches.
The Mustangs scored a goal in the first two minutes of both of its 40-minute scrimmages — the first coming in a minute and half against Cassville and the second in just 38 seconds against Aurora.
McDonald County claimed a 3-1 win over Cassville in the opener before settling for a 2-2 tie with Aurora in its second match.
Malachi Smith knocked in McDonald County’s first goal in the second minute of the opener against Cassville.
Ten minutes later, Eh Doh Say made it 2-0 before Cassville cut the lead to 2-1 with 14 minutes left.
Estaban De La Torre added an insurance goal for the Mustangs in the final minute.
It took Kaw Htoo just 38 seconds to give McDonald County an early 1-0 lead against Aurora in the Mustangs’ second scrimmage.
McDonald County added to its lead when Jeobany Marcos connected from over 30 yards out.
Aurora cut the lead to 2-1 at the 16-minute mark before tying the score at 2-2 with 1:30 left.
McDonald County opens its season at the Cassville Tournament which runs from Aug. 28 through Sept. 1.
