Stone rolls 300 on way to winning in the A Division of 500 Club’s No-Tap tourney
LaDonna Stone took first place in dramatic fashion in the A Division of the Merced/Atwater Women's 500 Club is
46th Annual Invitational No-Tap Tournament on Oct. 28.
In her final game, Stone rolled a 300 to defeat Joyce Hebert by 10 pins with a final score of 859 to 849. The A division saw 14 women competing.
Stone took home a cash prize of $159, Hebert $36, and Mary Ksenzulak came in third with an 829 for $35.
In the B division there were 17 participants and the 500 Club's president Debra Talaferro took first place with an 863 for her cash prize of $171. Taking second was Merced's Marie Herrera with a 844 for $56, and in third was Verna Fellow with a 832 for $43.
In the C division, a total of 21 ladies rolled and it paid down four places. Taking first was Donna Pote with an 820 for $167, coming in second was Jutta Webb with a 785 for $57, in third was Helen NcNitt with a 752 for $46, and in the fourth and final spot was Gerry Jackson rolling a 729 for $40.
All the first place winners had an extra $100 added to their winnings by the the Delta Sierra Beverage Company of Modesto as they have done in the last three years. This tournament has to be one of the top 500 club tournament in the Valley for their prize fund and gifts given out during the day.
BELEVUE LEADS SUMMER JUBILEE TEAM EVENT
The Bellevue Bowl teams set the pace in the annual Summer Jubilee held at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno with several cashing. Teams placing, total scores, and prize money won are listed: In 14h was Sean Kucius, Leticia Andrade, Jesse Andrade, and Ray Gong with 2,673 for $400.
In 18th was Lance Ollenborger, Merril Snyder, Dave King, and Mike Coe with 2,673 for $300.
In 30th was Matt Stout, Andrea Aguilar, Darryl Kawaaka, and Jeff Stout with 3,638 for $250. In 36th was Ashley Dehart, Bradley Dehart, Adam Farris, and Mike Danel 2,615 for $220. In 56th was Char Jolly, Anita Robert, Danny Robert, and Haj Bagri 2,575 for $210, and in 64th was Larry Valenti Sr., Esther Plantillas, Ron Gonzales, and Larry Valenti Jr. with 2,560 for $200.
OFFICIAL 2018 NORCAL ALIBI DOUBLES RESULTS
The Nor-Cal B.C. had the following bowlers winning during the Alibi Doubles as Terry Dvorak and Tosh Kajioka placed in 18th with a 990 series for $80. They were the only local pair to place.

T.J. Rowen placed third in the high game pot in the third game for a few bucks. Bob Heller placed in the first high game pot with a 278 and took second in the men's overall series.
Up next for us no-tappers will be at McHenry Bowl on Friday, Nov. 16 at 1 p.m. with their annual Turkey Shoot. You never know, you might win a bird for Thanksgiving.
NO-TAP VETERAN'S DAY TOURNAMENT
The Madera-Chowchilla Women's 500 Club is hosting a Veteran's Day fundraiser for local veterans on Saturday, Nov. 18 starting at 1 p.m.
Entry fee is $25 and they will have a 50/50 raffle, a lotto hat, and great door prizes. It's a no-tap tournament featuring 9-pin no-tap, 3-6-9 strikes, and an 8-pin notap. It sounds like fun and they always have a great turnout. It's short drive to Madera.
