MLB All-Stars beat Yomi­uri Gi­ants in Ja­pan

J.T. Real­muto and Amed Rosario drove in two runs each to lead the MLB All-Stars over the Yomi­uri Gi­ants 9-6 on Thurs­day in Tokyo. The game was a warm-up game ahead of their sixgame ex­hi­bi­tion se­ries against Ja­pan’s na­tional team.

Af­ter the game, Real­muto got to ex­pe­ri­ence a Ja­panese base­ball tra­di­tion when he was in­vited on the field to take part in the “hero in­ter­view” in front of the Tokyo Dome crowd. “This is awe­some, we don’t do this in the United States so I’m re­ally ex­cited to be here with you guys,” Real­muto said.

Yan­kees: Catcher Gary Sanchez had surgery on his left shoul­der, which could slow him dur­ing spring train­ing but is not likely to keep him out of the lineup on Open­ing Day.

Dodgers: The team is con­fi­dent short­stop Corey Sea­ger will be ready for spring train­ing af­ter un­der­go­ing el­bow lig­a­ment re­place­ment surgery in April and a hip op­er­a­tion in Au­gust, An­drew Friedman, the team’s pres­i­dent of base­ball op­er­a­tions, said at the gen­eral man­agers meet­ings.
