Hyde Park man slashed kids, say po­lice

Bail has been set at $100,000 for the Hyde Park man ac­cused of stab­bing three chil­dren on Satur­day, ac­cord­ing to the Suf­folk dis­trict at­tor­ney’s of­fice.

Rock Aure­lian, 51, was charged Mon­day in West Roxbury Mu­nic­i­pal Court with three counts of as­sault and bat­tery with a dan­ger­ous weapon and armed as­sault with in­tent to mur­der af­ter he al­legedly slashed a 15-year-old girl and two boys, 9 and 11, with a knife. The chil­dren were treated with non-lifethreat­en­ing in­juries. He was de­scribed by in­ves­ti­ga­tors as a fam­ily friend.

The at­tack was re­ported when blood-soaked chil­dren ran down River Street to a neigh­bor’s house and then to a cor­ner store, scream­ing for help, The Bos­ton Globe re­ported.

The girl had been stabbed mul­ti­ple times in the arm. A pool of blood stained the street on the 1600 block of River Street, and a bloody trail led to a neigh­bor’s house.

The chil­dren were de­scribed as con­fused and in shock, ac­cord­ing to the re­port. The neigh­bor di­aled 911, but the chil­dren were in­con­solable and kept scream­ing that the man might still be af­ter them. The chil­dren kept run­ning, and the 12-year-old boy ran down the block to the cor­ner store. Ac­cord­ing to wit­nesses, the boy screamed “save my life,” while the other two chil­dren re­mained out­side. A cus­tomer called 911 and the three were taken to the hos­pi­tal.

Aure­lian ad­mit­ted his in­volve­ment in the at­tack, ac­cord­ing to the DA.

He is due back in court July 28.
