The cruise winds over the Pali to Windward Mall for a prize and food break, followed by a photo op at Chinaman’sHat and shave ice at Matsumoto’s.

All traffic laws and road etiquette must be followed, and Walt Rivera warns that those who speed, race or act offensively will be “frowned upon and belittled by the HIIC flamers.” For details, call Rivera at 741-8142 or Ted Calvero at 232-9204.
“It’s open to anyone as long as they put the greater cause at hand first,” said Rivera.“The idea of just giving back to the community is our goal, no matter if it’s in a small way or a big way.”
Josie Hoh, David Orr and Linda Bard help Waimea Valley celebrate its third year as an official natural and cultural resource Aug. 15 by purchasing native plants during “Pulama O Waimea.” Besides plants, there were plenty of Hawaiian activities, tours, games, crafts, demonstrations and mo‘olelo from kupuna to keep everyone engaged. The Waimea ahupua‘a was rededicated on Aug. 12, 2006, following its acquisition by OHA. Photo by Leah Ball, firstname.lastname@example.org.
