PCC’s Hula Trib­ute To Aunty Sally Is Jan. 16

The 20th an­nual Moanikala Hula Fes­ti­val is planned for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 16 at Poly­ne­sian Cul­tural Cen­ter fea­tur­ing lo­cal and in­ter­na­tional ha­lau in a trib­ute to PCC’s first kumu hula, the late Aunty Sally Wood Nalua‘i.

Nalua‘i taught hula at PCC for nearly 49 years. The show also high­lights a spe­cial guest ha­lau from Ja­pan this year.

Events will be held in the Pa­cific The­ater, where ad­mis­sion is $10 and $6. Tick­ets also can be used for free ad­mis­sion to the North Shore cul­tural park’s six is­land vil­lages af­ter the fes­ti­val, or for up­graded tick­ets to the new din­ner show pack­age, Ha: Breath of Life.
