Help Mules’ Band By ‘Gambling’
The Leilehua High School Band Boosters are betting on the generosity of music education fans to support their third annual Casino Night, set for 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 20 in the high school cafeteria.
The fundraiser will include casino games, a silent auction, grand prize drawing, live music, door prizes and plenty of pupus.
Admission is $ 25 in advance or $30 at the door. Tickets are on sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday in front of the Wahiawa Longs Drugs store.
Each guest receives $200 in play money for the evening. ( Young children are not allowed at casino night.)
Proceeds will pay for band uniforms, instruments, educational tools, marching band equipment and muchneeded repairs.
Despite economic hardship, the band continues to grow in numbers, experience, success and pride, according to the boosters.
It also works with younger students and includes Wahiawa Middle school musicians in marching band and football season performances.
