Help Mules’ Band By ‘Gam­bling’

The Leile­hua High School Band Boost­ers are bet­ting on the gen­eros­ity of mu­sic ed­u­ca­tion fans to sup­port their third an­nual Casino Night, set for 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 20 in the high school cafe­te­ria.

The fundraiser will in­clude casino games, a si­lent auc­tion, grand prize draw­ing, live mu­sic, door prizes and plenty of pu­pus.

Ad­mis­sion is $ 25 in ad­vance or $30 at the door. Tick­ets are on sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Satur­day in front of the Wahi­awa Longs Drugs store.

Each guest re­ceives $200 in play money for the evening. ( Young chil­dren are not al­lowed at casino night.)

Pro­ceeds will pay for band uni­forms, in­stru­ments, ed­u­ca­tional tools, march­ing band equip­ment and much­needed re­pairs.

De­spite eco­nomic hard­ship, the band con­tin­ues to grow in num­bers, ex­pe­ri­ence, suc­cess and pride, ac­cord­ing to the boost­ers.

It also works with younger stu­dents and in­cludes Wahi­awa Mid­dle school mu­si­cians in march­ing band and foot­ball sea­son per­for­mances.
