Farmers Insurance Sponsoring Keiki Video Contest
With school now back in session for most of the state’s keiki, Farmers Insurance Hawaii is encouraging students to think about safe ways to get to and from school.
Middle and high school students from across the state are invited to submit videos of safe driving and pedestrian practices as a part of Farmers Insurance’s Hot Shots video contest.
The contest consists of two categories one for middle school and one for high school
and one winner will be selected from each. The top submission from each category will receive $1,500, and their video will air on TV as a public service announcement. Secondand third- place schools will receive $1,000 and $500 cash prizes in each category.
The Hot Shots video contest allows students to deliver a serious traffic safety message in a fun way, while instilling safe driving habits at a young age and helping to make our streets safer for everyone,” said Farmers Insurance Hawaii operations president Michele Saito. “Last year, we were overwhelmed with the quality of the videos, which helped remind the community about the importance of paying attention while driving, especially avoiding cell phone use and drinking and driving.”
Saito added that the contest can be a fun way for students to raise funds for school clubs and sports.
The contest launched Aug. 2 and continues through Oct. 17. Contest rules and information are available at the Farmers Insurance Hawaii website, myfarmershawaii.com/hotshots. For questions, contact Farmers Insurance Hawaii at 544-3988.
