MidWeek Islander (Central Oahu) - - Central Oahu Islander -

Turtle Bay Resort established a foundation last year to benefit the North Shore, and will host an inaugural charity golf tournament this month to support its mission.

The Turtle Bay Foundation is intended to “aggregate, enhance and oversee” the resort’s varied contributions to enrich the area through environmental, educational and cultural opportunities.

Past events, such as the North Shore Turkey Trot, Seafood Festival silent auction and Legends Charity Golf tournament have helped to fund such projects as the Kahuku Library bookmobile, high school scholarships, job-shadowing and more at area public schools, and collect school supplies, backpacks and holiday meals for hungry residents.

This year’s golf tournament, dubbed the Inaugural Turtle Bay Foundation Golf Fundraiser, is set for 12:30 p.m. May 24 with a fourperson scramble format on the resort’s Palmer Course.
