Now he hopes to give away his custom boards while sponsoring a meet to benefit the surfing community, all promoted with his new partner, Allstate. (You’re in good hands with Darren?) Call him for details at 674-9647 or 258-9313 … Speaking of surf, Saa Ginlack has expanded his Kauai Surf Shop business to Haleiwa, and lives in a house right behind it ( 66- 642 Kamehameha Hwy.) selling only his Tamba brand … Assets School’s educational technology director Mike Travis has won the Making IT Happen award from the International Society for Technology in Education. For five years, the Mililani resident has led Assets’ Schools for the Future grant project, and for two years has managed all of its tech requirements and upgrades. Assets teaches gifted and dyslexic children through integrated methods, including the new IT tools that Mike oversees … Army Spc. Thomas Loome with the Schofield military police says he and colleagues got to “be vocal and visible” with Cub Scout Pack 176 during Red Ribbon Week at Wheeler Chapel Fellowship Hall Oct. 28, where they conducted an anti-drug lesson with the scouts … Thinking of making of gift of blood during December? Hawaii Blood Bank will give you a bag of fruit bars in thanks, plus a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas (for Dec. 23-Jan. 4 donors)
