Sa­cred Hearts Pur­sues ‘Won­der­land’ Tale On Mamiya Stage

Draw­ing on male per­form­ers from Saint Louis, Kaiser High and three other schools, the girls of Sa­cred Hearts Academy are ready to give the is­land a spe­cial treat: Dis­ney’s Alice in Won­der­land.

The cur­tain goes up at 7 p.m. Thurs­day at Mamiya The­atre for the academy’s fall pro­duc­tion, with ad­di­tional shows at 7 p.m. Fri­day, Satur­day and Nov. 15 and 16, and 4 p.m. Sun­day and Nov. 17.

Di­rected by Kyle Kakuno, the mu­si­cal be­gins with Alice and her sis­ter spend­ing the day in a park. As most fans may re­call, Alice chases a mys­te­ri­ous white rab­bit and fol­lows it down a hole, where things get “cu­ri­ouser and cu­ri­ouser.” Along the way, Alice ( played by Kira Stone) meets a cast of ex­tra­or­di­nary char­ac­ters: Twee­dle Dee and Twee­dle Dum, t he Mad Hat­ter, Cheshi r e Cat and the Queen of Hearts.
