Sacred Hearts Pursues ‘Wonderland’ Tale On Mamiya Stage
Drawing on male performers from Saint Louis, Kaiser High and three other schools, the girls of Sacred Hearts Academy are ready to give the island a special treat: Disney’s Alice in Wonderland.
The curtain goes up at 7 p.m. Thursday at Mamiya Theatre for the academy’s fall production, with additional shows at 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Nov. 15 and 16, and 4 p.m. Sunday and Nov. 17.
Directed by Kyle Kakuno, the musical begins with Alice and her sister spending the day in a park. As most fans may recall, Alice chases a mysterious white rabbit and follows it down a hole, where things get “curiouser and curiouser.” Along the way, Alice ( played by Kira Stone) meets a cast of extraordinary characters: Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, t he Mad Hatter, Cheshi r e Cat and the Queen of Hearts.
Tickets cost $20 and $15 (or $10 for the Nov. 7 preview night show). Visit sacredhearts.org/tickets or call Rodney Chang at 734-5058, ext. 232.
