Walk-in clin­ics re­cently opened at Longs Drugs stores i n Kaimuki and Hawaii Kai to di­ag­nose and treat pa­tients as well as write pre­scrip­tions for com­mon fam­ily ill­nesses.

The CVS Min­uteClin­ics pro­vide nurse prac­ti­tion­ers who can han­dle mi­nor wounds, com­mon vac­ci­na­tions and well­ness ser­vices, as well as give ad­vice on life­style changes and per­form phys­i­cal ex­ams for camp, sports and col­lege. Di­ag­nos­tic records can be sent to pa­tients’ pri­mary-care doc­tors.

Fees for treat­ment start at about $75, ac­cord­ing to CVS Care­mark Corp., which runs the clin­ics “to make ac­cess to high-qual­ity med­i­cal treat­ment eas­ier for more Amer­i­cans.” CVS also runs Hawaii’s Longs Drugs stores.

Hours are 8:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. week­days, 9 a.m.5:30 p.m. Satur­days, and 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Sun­days.

The com­pany also re­cently opened Min­uteClin­ics at Longs Drugs in Ka­neohe, Kailua, Aiea, Kapolei and Honolulu.
