Honu Race Will Sup­port West Oahu Boys & Girls Club­houses

The Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii is gear­ing up for its fifth an­nual Honu Race set for March 20 at Wet ‘n’Wild Hawaii wa­ter park.

With the pur­chase of one of the 3,000 rub­ber tur­tles avail­able, sup­port­ers can join the race for prizes for an adop­tion fee of $ 23 (which in­cludes park ad­mis­sion through 4 p. m.). Ad­di­tional honu can be adopted for $5 to in­crease the chance of a first-place fin­ish. Prizes in­clude a $1,000 Chevron with Techron gift card, aWet ‘n’Wild Hawaii fam­ily pack for six, $100 gift cer­tifi­cate for Big City Diner and $75 gift cer­tifi­cate for McDon­ald’s.

The honu will take their mark at 9:30 a.m., fol­lowed by ac­tiv­i­ties and a mini-con­cert by ‘Ike Pono. Wa­ter park at­trac­tions are sched­uled to open at 10:30 a.m.
