LCC Gala Din­ner Will Honor Chef Padovani

LCC’s Culi­nary Arts Pro­gram hon­ors Hawaii chef Philippe Padovani at the third an­nual L‘ulu, Lee­ward Culi­nary Arts Gala, set for 6 to 9 p.m. Satur­day at the col­lege’s Pearl din­ing room.

Each year the school hon­ors one of the 12 found­ing chefs re­spon­si­ble for the Hawaii re­gional cui­sine ex­plo­sion cre­ated 20 years ago. This year’s din­ner high­lights var­i­ous lo­cally grown prod­ucts pre­pared by culi­nary arts pro­gram chefs Ian Rise­ley, David Millen and Michael Scully. Other guest chefs throw­ing their ex­per­tise into the mix in­clude Scott Higa of the JW Mar­riott Ihi­lani Re­sort & Spa, Dean Oki­moto of Nalo Farms, Fred De An­gelo of Ola, Elmer Guz­man of Poke Stop, Rus­sell Siu of 3660 on the Rise, Vikram Garg of Haleku­lani, Go­ran Streng of Tango, Chai Chaowasa­ree and pre­vi­ous L‘ulu hon­orees Alan Wong and Roy Ya­m­aguchi. The evening con­cludes with a silent auc­tion and live en­ter­tain­ment.
