Drop off lei at parks, fire sta­tions for Me­mo­rial Day cer­e­monies

The city is col­lect­ing fresh flower lei at area parks and fire sta­tions for Me­mo­rial Day cer­e­monies.

In West Oahu, the pub­lic can drop off their 20-to 24-inch, tied lei from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 28 at Waipahu and Wa­iau district parks and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kapolei Hale’s se­cu­rity desk. All fire sta­tions will ac­cept the flow­ers be­tween 6:30 a.m. and noon that day. Loose plume- ria blos­soms also are wel­come at Waipahu District Park.

Boy Scouts will dec­o­rate graves of vet­er­ans at Punch­bowl and at all state vet­er­ans ceme­ter­ies on the na­tional hol­i­day. The Mayor’s Me­mo­rial Day Cer­e­mony is set for 8:30 a.m. May 31 at Na­tional Me­mo­rial Ceme­tery of the Pa­cific (Punch­bowl).
