Ewa Beach Lions Have Parade, Party
Santa’s sleigh joins the entire Ewa Beach community this Saturday for the Ewa Beach Lions Club Community Christmas Parade and Ho‘olaulea.
The parade begins at 10 a.m. at the Boys and Girls Club on FortWeaver Road and makes a loop up Kuhina Street to Hanakahi Street, down North Road and ends back at the clubhouse. There will be a variety of decorated floats from area schools, churches, businesses, sports teams and community organizations, and Santa himself will carry more than 900 pounds of hard candy with plenty of nimble elves to help distribute the treats safely into the hands of eager onlookers.
“The economy has been tough, and some children are not going to have many toys this year,” said club secretary Sam Fisk.“At least the Lions can provide a grand display and candy treats to brighten the day of people young and old.”
After the march, the community is invited to celebrate from noon to 9 p.m. at Ewa Beach Community Park with live entertainment, holiday performances, crafts, games, rides and local comfort food for sale to raise funds for the Ewa Beach Crush Youth Football League and World Youth Day.
