Waipahu Den­tist Gives To ‘Smiles’ For Keiki

Now through June, Waipahu-based Hur­tado Den­tal will do­nate 100 per­cent of pro­ceeds from teeth­whiten­ing pro­ce­dures to lo­cal non­profit Good Be­gin­nings Al­liance and the Smiles For Life Foun­da­tion.

Its ef­forts are part of the Crown Coun­cil’s 16th an­nual Smiles For Life Cam­paign. Pa­tients who par­tic­i­pate also will re­ceive teeth-whiten­ing pro­ce­dures at a dis­counted rate.

Dr. Greg Hur­tado and his team have raised $50,000 for the cam­paign since 2004.

“Smiles For Life al­lows our com­mu­nity to help chil­dren in need by do­ing some­thing that ben­e­fits them as well,” stated Hur­tado. “My team and I are happy to do­nate our time and ex­per­tise to help raise funds for wor­thy lo­cal and global char­i­ties to pro­vide chil­dren a brighter fu­ture, while we give our pa­tients a brighter smile.”

Good Be­gin­nings Al­liance ad­vo­cates for ed­u­ca­tional, health and safety is­sues re­lat­ing to young chil­dren. Its cur­rent cam­paign, Be My Voice! Hawaii, seeks to urge the state Leg­is­la­ture to fund preschool for all 4year-olds.
