Meet­ing To Dis­cuss Rail Plans

West Oahu res­i­dents wor­ried about the fu­ture of com­mut­ing in the Pearl City area are urged to at­tend a town hall meet­ing at 7 p.m. Thurs­day at Pearl Ridge El­e­men­tary School cafe­te­ria.

The com­mu­nity meet­ing will be led by Har­ri­son Rue, the city’s tran­sit-ori­ented de­vel­op­ment ad­min­is­tra­tor, with a fo­cus on plans for the Lee­ward Com­mu­nity Col­lege, Pearl High­lands and Pearl­ridge sta­tions in the fu­ture rail project. Pedes­trian and bi­cy­clist op­tions also will be ad­dressed by Chad Taniguchi of Hawaii Bicycling League.

The town hall meet­ing is spon­sored by state Sens. David Ige and Donna Mer­cado Kim; Reps. Aaron John­son, K. Mark Takai, Gregg Takayama and Roy Takumi; and City Coun­cilmem­bers Carol Fuku­naga and Breene Ha­ri­moto.

‘ Olelo Com­mu­nity Tele­vi­sion will film the event for a later re­broad­cast.
