Clean En­ergy Fair Bring­ing Ex­perts To Waimanalo

Seek­ing ways to make Hawaii more sus­tain­able, a Clean En­ergy Fair is planned for 8:30 a.m. to noon Satur­day in the Hawaii Na­tional Guard Train­ing Cen­ter at Bel­lows Air Sta­tion.

Guest speak­ers will in­clude Honolulu Sea Water Air Con­di­tion­ing’s Fred­er­ick Berg, First Wind’s Kekoa Kaluhiwa, So­lar City’s Jon Yoshimura, DBEDT’S Mark Glick of the state En­ergy Of­fice, and state Rep. Cyn­thia Thie­len, a cham­pion of lo­cal wave en­ergy so­lu­tions.

“This is a per­fect op­por­tu­nity for res­i­dents to learn about the di­rec­tion our state is headed when it comes to re­new­able en­ergy,” said state Sen. Po­hai Ryan, spon­sor of the fair.

“It also will give them a chance to learn about the role ma­jor util­i­ties are play­ing in de­liv­er­ing clean en­ergy to our res­i­dents.”

Clean en­ergy ex­perts also will man in­for­ma­tion booths at the event.
