There’s Stories Above In Them Thar Stars
Tales of nymphs and half-divine heroes might seem like child-friendly fare — but to those in the know, the reality is really quite adult.
“Star-Crossed Lovers,” a Valentine’s Day stargazing show to be held at Windward Community College’s Imaginarium at 7 p.m. Friday, hopes to share tales of true — and uncensored — love with adult audiences.
Many constellations and celestial bodies get their names from Greek myth and lore. But “( Greek myths) sure aren’t cute little fairy tales, and they really aren’t ‘kid-friendly,’” stated Krissie Kellogg, education specialist at WCC and host of the stargazing show. Kellogg normally tones down the risqué stories to keep things appropriate for general audiences, so she’s anticipating being able to share the “unedited” tales with this audience.
