Wa­ter Needs Sem­i­nar March 7 In Waimanalo

No one is more con­scious of wa­ter con­ser­va­tion than a farmer, and Oahu Re­source Con­ser­va­tion and De­vel­op­ment Coun­cil wants to help Hawaii’s own by host­ing a sem­i­nar next month on “Wa­ter Man­age­ment Strate­gies – An Ir­ri­ga­tion Man­age­ment and Ve­tiver Work­shop.”

The event, set for 9 a.m. to noon March 7 at Mulk­ern Nurs­ery in Waimanalo, fo­cuses on farm and nurs­ery wa­ter needs, in­clud­ing mi­croir­ri­ga­tion sys­tems, ef­fi­cient ir­ri­ga­tion man­age­ment tech­niques, ve­tiver ben­e­fits and tips, and fi­nan­cial ad­vice.

A tour of the nurs­ery’s con­ser­va­tion prac­tices is in­cluded.

In­ter­ested par­tic­i­pants must reg­is­ter by March 3 at wa­ter­mgmt­work­shop.event brite.com to re­serve one of 25 seats. Ad­mis­sion is $6 per per­son, and no walk-ins will be ac­cepted. The nurs­ery is lo­cated at 41-639 Kaulukanu St.
