Two Area Schools Want To Re­cy­cle Your Stuff

Puo­hala and Hau‘ula el­e­men­tary schools both have sched­uled Aloha Aina com­mu­nity re­cy­cling drives in the near fu­ture. Hau­ula’s is from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 28, and Puo­hala is open the same hours on March 7.

They wel­come all con­tri­bu­tions from the public, in part­ner­ship with Sch­nitzer Steel and Kokua Hawaii Foun­da­tion’s 3Rs School Re­cy­cling Pro­gram. Ac­cepted are scrap metal, bi­cy­cles, ap­pli­ances, com­put­ers, lap­tops, prin­ters, car­tridges and other e-waste prod­ucts.

Also needed: bat­ter­ies, TV sets, used cooking oil, pa­per, cor­ru­gated card­board, re­us­able cloth­ing and house­hold items (for Good­will), HI-5 con­tain­ers and plas­tics (No. 1 and 2 con­tain­ers).
