Down-home Fish Fry’s Set For SJV Parish Hall

Res­i­dents who dine on fried fish, hush pup­pies, coleslaw, fruit and french fries from 5 to 7:30 p.m. March 13 at St. John Vian­ney parish hall on Ke­olu Drive will help raise tu­ition funds for needy stu­dents, as well sup­port ef­forts to reach out to vic­tims of hu­man traf­fick­ing.

Hosted by Knights of Colum­bus Coun­cil 6307, the fundraiser will ben­e­fit stu­dents at both St. John Vian­ney and St. An­thony’s, as well as the non­profit Ho‘ola Na Pua, which plans to build a safe, heal­ing shel­ter for un­der­age girls who are vic­tims of pros­ti­tu­tion rings.

“Ho‘ola Na Pua’s fa­cil­ity will pro­vide a com­pre­hen­sive, holis­tic ther­apy plan for vic­tims,” ex­plained coun­cil mem­ber Dou­glas Dede­voir.

Honolulu Fish Com­pany, Union Fish Com­pany and Gou­vea’s & Pu­rity Foods Inc. are sup­ply­ing the menu for the event, and tick­ets are on sale Satur­day and Sun­day af­ter all Masses at both Kailua churches. They also can be pur­chased on­line at http://goo.gl/k08HGc. Cost is $13 for adults, $12 for se­niors and $9 for chil­dren ages 5-11. Max­i­mum fam­ily charge is $50.
