At stake for each cat­e­gory win­ner is $2,500 for a des­ig­nated char­ity part­ner, plus a trip to Los An­ge­les in Septem­ber for the gala awards cer­e­mony to name the top dog hero, an event to be aired on the Hall­mark chan­nel.
