Searchers find body in explosion rubble
MADISON - A body has been recovered from the rubble of a Madison house explosion, a fire department official said Friday.
Fire Chief Steven Davis said the body was found about 9 a.m. Firefighters had been searching the debris of the house, which exploded and caught fire Wednesday. Officials said earlier one of the home’s two owners could not be located.
The Dane County medical examiner’s office has joined the investigation.
Davis said gas is a suspected factor in the explosion, which scattered debris hundreds of feet away.
