Bucks’ schedule for summer league set

- Matt Velazquez

The Milwaukee Bucks will be back in action in less than a month as the team takes part in the NBA’s annual Las Vegas summer league.

Game times, locations and matchups were announced by the league Tuesday.

For the first time, the Las Vegas summer league will include entries from all 30 NBA teams.

Each team will play a minimum of five games, starting with three preliminary contests from July 6-10. The teams then will be seeded in a tournament, which starts July 11 and concludes with a championship game July 17.

Here are the Bucks’ preliminary matchups, including their opponent, game time (Central) and broadcast network. Each of the Bucks’ first three games will be played at Cox Pavilion. They could potentially play at the Thomas & Mack Center during the tournament.

July 6: vs. Detroit Pistons at 6 p.m., NBA TV

July 8: vs. Dallas Mavericks at 6 p.m., NBA TV

July 9: vs. Denver Nuggets at 8 p.m., ESPN U

In addition to games that will be televised on ESPN’s family of networks and NBA TV, ESPN will present every game from Las Vegas via the ESPN app.

Summer league squads generally are made up of a team’s most inexperienced players and the current year’s draft picks with undrafted free agents and G League players filling out the roster.

Fans can expect to see last year’s Bucks rookies, D.J. Wilson and Sterling Brown, in Las Vegas along with the team’s 2018 draft pick — Milwaukee owns the 17th pick in the draft next Thursday.
