Cars broken into at locked Oak Creek apartment garages

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - - News -

About 30 vehicles parked in five private, locked garages were broken into during overnight hours Wednesday in Oak Creek.

Police were called to the area of West Puetz Road and South Liberty Lane on Thursday morning for reports of smashed car windows and stolen property, according to an Oak Creek Police Department news release.

The garages for five apartment buildings were entered and about 30 vehicles were broken into, Lt. David Ashenhurst said.

“They were locked buildings, so entry is undetermined at this point,” Ashenhurst said.

It’s unclear how much property was stolen and exactly how many cars were damaged and entered.

Many of the vehicles were damaged, the news release said.

Police are looking for anyone who lives in the area or visited it around 2 a.m. Thursday, the release said. No descriptions of suspects were available.

Anyone with information is asked to call Oak Creek police at (414) 7628200.
