Photo of the Week
Our Photo of the Week continues to be very popular and many of our followers on Facebook take the time to comment on the model, the photo, or the full-size aircraft that it was modeled after. Recently, we shared a photo taken by Scott McClurg at the 2015 Warbirds Over Delaware giant-scale fly-in. This giant-scale, turbinepowered T-33 Shooting Star is the work of Paul LeTourneau, who created the realistic natural metal finish, which really makes it come alive. Here are just a few of your comments.
Roger Smith: It’s painted in the colors of a T-33 based at Royal Air Force Bentwaters, Suffolk, England, with the 81st Tactical Fighter Wing. I actually sat in one of these with the same markings.
Tom Bird: I got to fly in the back seat of one of these (full size, of course) when I was at ROTC summer camp.
Imran Sharif: A masterpiece!
Chad Asmus: Hey, my friend, Paul LeTourneau, you made the big leagues!
Peter Malchione: Excellent jet, excellent photo.
Aaron Ballwich: I am playing around with electric ducted fans and sure wish someone would come out with an electric-powered T-33—any size!
