Nominate for CEO IT award
M odern Healthcare is seeking nominations for its eighth annual CEO IT Achievement Award competition. The 2010 award, co-sponsored by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, honors one or more healthcare industry CEOs who demonstrate leadership and commitment to using information technology to advance their healthcare organizations’ goals.
CEOs from provider organizations, including hospitals, health systems, health insurers, physician groups and clinics, and post-acute-care providers are eligible for the award. CEOs from healthcare vendors and suppliers are not eligible.
Entries can be submitted starting Jan. 11 on ModernHealthcare.com. The submission deadline is March 19. A panel of CEOs and chief information officers will judge the competition. The magazine will announce the winner or winners in the April 19 issue of Modern Healthcare, and award recipients will be profiled in a special section in the June 14 issue.
A total of 18 CEOs have received the award since the recognition program’s inception in 2003. The 2009 competition drew 48 entries, with three CEOs being chosen as award winners.
Modern Healthcare and HIMSS will honor the 2010 recipients at the Government Health IT Conference & Exhibition to be held June 14-15 in Washington. The award recipients will be invited to speak about their successful IT implementations in sessions at the conference.
