North Shore-LIJ system is NQF award winner
North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System based in Great Neck, N.Y., was named the recipient of the National Quality Forum’s 2010 National Quality Healthcare Award. The 17th annual award recognizes a healthcare organization that successfully uses performance measures to drive quality improvement in patient care. The NQF, a quality standards consensus-building organization, conducts the annual award program in partnership with Modern Healthcare. Modern Healthcare will profile North Shore-LIJ and its quality-improvement efforts in a special feature to be published in the March 1 issue. The NQF will honor North Shore-LIJ in Washington on March 3.
