Survey of Executive Opinions on Key Information Technology Issues.
The survey was conducted online between Nov. 23, 2009, and Jan. 15, 2010. This year, executives from 245 eligible provider organizations participated.
Respondents included chief information officers (29%), CEOs (25%), chief financial officers (9%), chief medical officers (7%), chief medical information officers (3%), chief operating officers (2%) and chief technology officers (1%). The remaining 23% held other titles. All numbers are rounded.
Most commonly, respondents reported they work in general/acute-care hospitals (42%), while others were from multihospital systems and integrated delivery networks (29%), academic medical centers (8%), specialty hospitals (2%), children’s hospitals (1%), psychiatric/behavior-health hospitals (1%), rehabilitation hospitals (1%), hospice, nursing homes and other longterm-care facilities (2%), and medical group practices and clinics (14%).
