Two top executives are leaving posts at Hospira
Hospira, Lake Forest, Ill., a specialty pharmaceuticals and medication delivery company, will lose two of its top executives to retirement. According to a news release, Christopher Begley, 58, Hospira’s founding chairman and CEO, has announced plans to step down from his CEO post as soon as a replacement is selected. Begley will continue as the company’s chairman. A search committee has been formed to select a replacement for Begley. Additionally, Hospira’s chief operating officer, Terrence Kearney, 55, has announced he will retire his post by year-end. His duties will be taken over by James Hardy, who is currently corporate vice president of supply chain for Hospira. Hardy will be promoted to senior vice president of operations, effective Dec. 31. Begley and Kearney have held their current positions since Hospira’s 2004 spinoff from Abbott Laboratories.
