Bet on innovation center

Modern Healthcare - - Opinions Letters -

The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation has the potential to be a laboratory and stimulus for very valuable contributions to making healthcare reforms work, as well as the potential to become one more shiny idea that tarnishes quickly (“CMS launches center for innovation,” ModernHealthcare.com, Nov. 16).

Having had the opportunity to work with Richard Gilfillan in the early days of managed care in the Philadelphia area and then see his performance a decade later as CEO of the Geisinger health plan, I would put my money on the former outcome—the guy is smart, serious, fair and just plain effective.
