Survey of Executive Opinions on Key Information Technology Issues.
The survey was conducted from Nov. 22, 2010, through Jan. 19. Executives from 149 eligible provider organizations participated.
Respondents included chief information officers (25% of the total), CEOs (24%), chief operating officers (9%), chief medical information officers (7%), chief financial officers (6%) and chief medical officers (5%). The other 23% held other titles.
Leaders of multihospital systems or integrated health networks constitute the largest class of organizations in the survey at 40% of participants, followed by general acute-care hospitals (32%); medical groups or clinics (14%); academic medical centers (6%), children’s hospitals (2%), and nursing homes or long-term acute-care hospitals (2%). The remaining 4% of respondents represent other categories.
