Jeffrey Korsmo, a longtime Mayo Clinic executive, has been named president and CEO of Via Christi Health, a Roman Catholic-sponsored system based in Wichita, Kan. Korsmo is expected to start in September, and he replaces Kevin Conlin, who announced in November that he was leaving to become executive VP for Coventry Health Care, a managedcare company based in Bethesda, Md. Via Christi sold its subsidiary health plan, Preferred Health Systems, to Coventry in a deal approved in late 2009. Korsmo worked in leadership positions at the Mayo Clinic for 28 years and held several posts including chief administrative officer at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn.; and CFO at Mayo facilities in Rochester and Jacksonville, Fla. … LifePoint Hospitals, Brentwood, Tenn., has named new CEOs for two hospitals in Kentucky and Texas. The company hired Brad Morse, 46, to be CEO of its Meadowview Regional Medical Center, Maysville, Ky. Jimmy Stuart left the hospital to become CEO of LifePoint’s Riverview Regional Medical Center, Carthage, Tenn. … Dr. Theresa Brennan was named CMO of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, effective July 1. Brennan joined the hospital a decade ago and currently serves as the clinical director of the cardiovascular division. During her time at the university, Brennan, 45, has held a number of posts, including chief resident, chief cardiology fellow and vice chairwoman for clinical programs for the hospital’s internal medicine department. Brennan is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. Her appointment is pending approval from the state’s board of regents, according to a University of Iowa news release.
