A disposable fest
Attention budding filmmakers: Grab your cellphone, tablet or Flip camera and start recording.
The Disposable Film Festival, which according to its website was created to “celebrate the creative potential of disposable video: short films made on everyday equipment like cellphones, pocket cameras and other inexpensive video capture devices,” recently unveiled a healthcare version of its festival with a prize valued at $5,000.
Disposable Film Festival Health kicks off with an optional “createa-thon” Sept. 24 in San Francisco to help participants develop short films about health, medicine, patients or doctors, according to a news release from the festival and Practice Fusion, the health information technology company sponsoring the festival.
The finished product is due before Oct. 24 and winners will be notified Nov. 1.
