Providers’ rev­enue climbs over 12 months: S&P

Medi­care rev­enue for hos­pi­tals and health­care pro­fes­sion­als in­creased 2.72% dur­ing the year ended in Fe­bru­ary while com­mer­cial in­sur­ance rev­enue climbed 7.73%, the Stan­dard & Poor’s Eco­nomic In­dices show. The eco­nomic in­dices es­ti­mate the av­er­age per capita change in rev­enue from fee-for-ser­vice Medi­care and com­mer­cial in­surer rev­enue. Medi­care rev­enue for hos­pi­tals in­creased 1.94% and com­mer­cial hospi­tal rev­enue climbed 8.41% dur­ing the 12 months. A com­pos­ite in­dex for hos­pi­tals in­creased 5.52% dur­ing the pe­riod. Health­care pro­fes­sion­als saw Medi­care rev­enue grow 3.55% and com­mer­cial rev­enue in­creased 6.78% for the year end­ing in Fe­bru­ary. The com­pos­ite in­dex for health­care pro­fes­sion­als climbed 5.72%.
